Chhaava

"Chhaava" is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language historical epic action film that delves into the life of Maratha king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, the movie features Vicky Kaushal in the titular role, with Rashmika Mandanna portraying Yesubai Bhonsale and Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb.

The film is an adaptation of the Marathi novel "Chhava" by Shivaji Sawant, aiming to bring the valor and legacy of Sambhaji Maharaj to the big screen. The musical score is composed by A. R. Rahman, with lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil.

Initially scheduled for release on December 6, 2024, "Chhaava" is now set to hit theaters on February 14, 2025. The film has already garnered significant attention, with advance bookings surpassing ₹5 crore.

However, the movie has faced some controversy. Maharashtra minister Uday Samant raised objections over a dance scene depicting Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, urging the filmmakers to remove the sequence to maintain historical accuracy.

As the release date approaches, audiences eagerly anticipate witnessing this portrayal of Maratha history and the performances of the star-studded cast.
